Freestyle
: This is the most spectacular branch of dogfrisbee.
Here you put on a sparkling show with a certain number of
discs (5 to 10) for a jury, who will quote your routine
based on different aspects. Depending on the format different
aspects are judged, like throwing technique, showmanship,
disc management, athletic Ability, catch ratio, etc.
MiniDistance
: This discipline, now rather called Toss &
Fetch, is one of the official parts of Dogfrisbee. It is
probably the easiest, and definitely the most accessible
for starting discdoggers. Here your throw the disc right
in front of you, the dog catches the disc before it falls
to the ground and brings it back to you for a next throw.
Depending on the number of catches and the distance where
the disc was catched, you score points.
LongDistance
: The difference here is that you throw only one
time, and the dog should catch the disc as far as possible.
The winner is the one who catches the farest Frisbee.
Next to these classic
DiscDog-events, there are several variations to DiscDog,
which are all leading more or less their own lives.
Dogdartbee
: This is a combination of darts and dogfrisbee.
The dog catches the disc in a large dartsfield on the ground.
Depending on the square where the dog lands after catching
the disc, points are scored.
Hot Zone :
This is a recent variation where the field is divided into
six squares. The dog should catch the disc once in each
square and this in a pre-defined order.
Flybee : This
is a combination of Frisbee and Flyball where two teams
compete each other. The disc is thrown over a line, where
each dog catches and returns as quick as possible and this
in a relay-fashion.
Quadruped : Also in quadruped the dog should
catch the disc as far as possible. Difference with the distance
events, are the teams that compete each other in an elimination
system.
Dogfrisbee
Obstacle Course : The disc is thrown over, under
or inside different kind of apparatus.
